Tiny Turrets: Constructing the Castle, 1971
Employing forced perspective, WED designed Cinderella Castle to appear much taller than the 189 feet it actually is. Dominating the Magic Kingdom skyline, and serving as a visual anchor for guests staying along the Seven Seas Lagoon, Cinderella Castle rises gracefully on a graded scale so that the top portions, such as the golden turret above, is actually much smaller than one would expect, making it seem farther away, or higher up. For a point of reference, look at the construction worker standing next to it.
